Maple Creek Artist Geoff Phillips (originally from Lumsden, SK) graduated from the Bachelor of Fine Arts program in 2005 at the University of Regina where he specialized in Inter-media. Since then he has been an artist in residence at the Canadian Film Centre’s Habitat New Media Lab. Worked independently as a visual artist painting at the Untitled Art Society and Art Central in Calgary, AB where he met and married fellow artist Connie (Gibbens) Phillips. He has also spent the last five years serving as the 'Artist in Residence' at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, Saskatchewan (Centre Block), where he provides art programming to park visitors and residents of Southwest Saskatchewan. Geoff has also painted large scale murals and paintings for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, the town of Lacombe, AB and most recently for the town of Maple Creek's Heritage District as part of the Main Street Revitalization program. His first solo show in Saskatchewan is coming this fall, Opening on Sept 9th-Oct. 29th, 2017 at the Swift Current Art Gallery! Geoff will be in attendance September 29th.
